The process of applying for or renewing health insurance can be overwhelming when you have no one to turn to for guidance. So when actor Coralina was in the midst of renewing hers and saw that The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) was holding one of its weekly seminars to help performing arts and entertainment professionals better navigate the system, she signed up.
Led by Director of Health Services Renata Marinaro, Coralina felt like she landed in the right place.
“Renata was very knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly,” says Coralina. “It was comforting to know that there are other people with similar questions.”
She also jumped at the chance to sign up for a one-on-one meeting with AHIRC Counselor Vincent Musolino. “Vinnie was fantastic. He was well-informed, kind, compassionate and encouraging.”
Thanks to your support, Coralina found the help she needed to make the best, most informed choices possible for her health insurance.
“In a way, I felt like a lost ship, and I didn’t know what to do. The Actors Fund was the North Star in a way that brought me to safety, allowing me to navigate better as an artist, and as a human being.
“I walked out of there thinking, ‘Is this real?’ These people care so much. That’s what was so moving to me—that there are people there to help all of us in the arts. I’m so grateful.”
