Monday night’s sold out benefit concert presentation of Bombshell once again showcased the generosity and dedication of the entertainment and performing arts community in coming together to help those in need.
The evening raised more than $800,000 for The Actors Fund’s programs and services thanks to the donated time and talent of more than 200 actors, dancers, stage managers, producers, designers and creative team on the production.
Guests gathered at the Minskoff Theatre for producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s concert presentation of the musical created within the NBC TV series “Smash,” created by Theresa Rebeck. Bombshell featured music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, direction by Joshua Bergasse and Scott Wittman with choreography by Joshua Bergasse and music direction by Marc Shaiman.
The evening featured the talents of the original stars of “Smash” including Christian Borle, Jaime Cepero, Will, Chase, Ann Harada, Megan Hilty, Brian d’Arcy James, Jeremy Jordan, Katharine McPhee, Debra Messing, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Wesley Taylor. Joining the company were Donna McKechnie and Ripley Sobo as well as thirty singers and dancers in the Bombshell ensemble and a full orchestra of thirty musicians.
