This June, the Entertainment Community Fund shines a spotlight on the health insurance services available to performing arts and entertainment professionals through the Fund.
Recognizing the need for affordable health insurance, the challenges of cycling on and off of union plans and the anxiety surrounding maintaining coverage and understanding the complexities of health care, the Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) is here to provide comprehensive and compassionate support.
When faced with questions about health insurance coverage or the need to enroll in a new plan, performing arts and entertainment professionals can turn to AHIRC for one-on-one counseling from a Health Benefits Specialist. Free and unbiased counseling services are available to all performing arts and entertainment professionals and provide guidance based on each individual’s unique circumstances.
In addition to personalized counseling, online seminars on navigating the health insurance landscape are available weekly and provide guidance on understanding the Affordable Care Act, estimating variable and sporadic income, and determining if you’re eligible for subsidies to reduce your premiums.
For individuals who are transitioning to Medicare, the Fund’s Welcome to Medicare provides information on how it works, understanding the many options available and the timing of choosing and enrolling in coverage.
Whether seeking individualized counseling, help understanding health insurance options or guidance on enrollment, the Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center is here to help.
The health insurance services of the Fund are free and available to individuals working in performing arts and entertainment. To learn more, please visit entertainmentcommunity.org/AHIRC.
