It’s 1913 and the women’s movement is heating up in America, anchored by the suffragists—“Suffs,” as they call themselves—and their relentless pursuit of the right to vote. Suffs entertains and inspires with the story of these brilliant, flawed women and their hard-won victory in an ongoing fight. With a book by Tony Award-winning lyricist and composer Shaina Taub (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, As You Like It)—who also stars as Alice Paul—and direction by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman (Grand Horizons, The Lifespan of A Fact), Suffs reminds us that we need to look back in order to march fearlessly into the future.
