This year’s Tony-Award winner for Best New Play, Stereophonic mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976. An up-and-coming rock band recording a new album finds itself suddenly on the cusp of superstardom. The ensuing pressures could spark their breakup—or their breakthrough. Featuring performances by Tony-Award winner Will Brill (Oklahoma!), and Tony-Award nominees Juliana Canfield (Succession), Eli Gelb (The Newsroom), Tom Pecinka (American Rust) and Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), with a book by David Adjmi (Marie Antoinette), an original score by Will Butler (Arcade Fire) and direction by Tony-Award winner Daniel Aukin (Fool for Love).
