The Creative Economy Fund (Sponsored by YouTube and Google.org)

The purpose of this fund is to provide support to digital creators, those working in the digital creator industry and/or arts and entertainment workers who have lost or damaged homes due to the LA Wildfires.

Please note: Employees of YouTube/Google and their household members are not eligible for this Fund.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must fall into one of the following categories and provide the category-specific documentation below.

  • A. Individual Creator or Creator-Employed Professional
    • Definition:
      • Individual Creator: The principal owner/operator of a channel in the YouTube Partner Program OR the principal owner/operator of an account on another major content creation platform as of December 31, 2024.
      • Creator-Employed Professional: An individual directly paid by a Creator or a Creator’s legal entity.
    • Required Proof of Role:
      • Individual Creator: Form 1099-NEC from platform parent company (tied to ad revenue, brand deals, etc.) for the most recent tax year OR Screenshot of YouTube Studio showing a channel’s handle/name part of the YPP program and the applicant’s email having access to that YouTube Channel (example)
         
      • Creator-Employed Professional:
        • If you work for a creator in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP): Screenshot of YouTube Studio showing a Channel’s handle/name part of the YPP program and the applicant’s email having access to that YouTube Channel (example) OR Email sent to the applicant’s address from an address associated with the channel explaining the association of the applicant to the YouTube Channel (requires screenshot of Studio showing sender’s email having access to a YPP YouTube Channel) (example)
        • If you work for a non-YPP creator: Email sent to the applicant’s address from an address associated with the channel explaining the association of the applicant to the creator’s channel.
  • B. Creative Professionals
    • Definition: An individual who works in the following fields:
      • Arts and Design: Graphic design, art direction, illustration, fashion design, hair/makeup styling, photography/photography production, video production, post-production.
      • Media and Entertainment: Writing, acting, music, filmmaking, animation, journalism.
      • Talent + Influencer: Talent management, talent PR, influencer marketing.
    • Required Proof of Role:
      • If you work for brands/companies: Form W-2 or 1099-NEC from the company for the most recent tax year.
      • If you work for an influencer marketing agency or talent management firm: Form W-2 from the agency/firm.

Additional Required Documentation

  • Proof of Role: W-2 or 1099 documents as outlined above.
  • Proof of LA County Residence: A utility bill, lease agreement or driver’s license from January 2025 showing a Los Angeles County address.
  • Proof of Identity: Government-issued photo identification such as driver’s license, State ID, Passport.
  • Proof of Fire Impact: Documentation demonstrating direct impact of fire on the applicant’s home (partial damage or complete destruction). Acceptable documents include:
    • Proof of FEMA or SBA assistance OR Homeowners or Renters insurance claim documents.
