Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors

In expanding job opportunities for Hispanic actors, HOLA strengthens and supports the available talent pool through its professional educational services and awards for excellence in theater. HOLA strives for an accurate, informed and non-stereotyped portrayal of Hispanic culture, people and heritage in theatre, film, television, radio and commercials.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

A free seasonal program (November - May) that helps eligible households pay for regular and emergency energy heating costs and can help low-income homeowners repair or replace furnaces, boilers or other direct heating devices. Call 311 to request an application and identify as a senior.

How Do I Help Someone Else?

This site encourages those concerned about a friend's or family member's substance abuse to be active, get involved, and to not be afraid to talk about the problem honestly and openly.


A source for knowledge and help with systems, laws, programs and services affecting young people with disabilities in New York City. Their website includes an easy-to-use database, which has a large variety of categories and disability specific resources. Also conducts workshops and training sessions for parents, families, professionals and community organizations about local services & laws, parenting, and advocacy. The organization also has a array of publications and provides information and referrals.

Independent Care System

A non-profit organization committed to assisting people with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in community life. Coordinates services for Medicaid-eligible adults living in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan. These services include adult day health care, home care, meal delivery, personal emergency response, rehabilitation, and more.

Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP)

Helps independent creators develop new projects, connecting artists across various media disciplines with essential resources at all stages of their career and projects’ development.

Information for Families, Inc.

This site lists the locations of free meals (as well as free clothing and other amenities) in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

Internatioal Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP)

Supports the creative development of artists and curators, and promotes exchange through residencies and public programs.

International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees, IATSE International

Represents Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada.

International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Motion Picture and Theatrical Trade Division

Represents workers in the motion picture industry including firms that produce feature films, television programs, commercials, and live theatrical productions.

Represents cinematographers and camera crews.

Advocacy, community and information for Content Creators.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)

Addresses critical issues facing new veterans and their families, including mental health injuries, a stretched VA system, inadequate health care for female veterans, and GI Bill educational benefits. Also provides valuable resources and empowers veterans to connect with one another, fostering a strong and lasting community.
