Nutrition and Alternative Treatments

National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health

The federal government's lead agency for scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine. This site documents the organization's research, health information and clinical trials related to HIV/AIDS.

New York Buyers' Club

A cooperative organization providing access to and information about nutritional and homeopathic supplements to the New York metropolitan community and beyond.

Friends In Deed

A crisis center for those with life-threatening illnesses and their caregivers, offering emotional support, counseling, home visits and seminars.

God's Love We Deliver

This organization prepares and delivers nutritious meals for people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Clients are in in New York City and Hudson County, New Jersey.

Housing Works

Helps homeless and low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and their families obtain adequate housing, food, social support, drug treatment, health care and employment.

My Bridge 4 Life

Wellness network designed to help patients, caregivers, supporters and individuals create a personalized wellness plan.

Project STAY (Services to Assist Youth)

Offers comprehensive and confidential medical, psycho-social, and case management services to HIV+ youth between the ages of 13-24, regardless of insurance coverage.

Public Health Solutions Assessment and Referral Team (ART)

Provides time-limited, home-based, specialized case management services for individuals with HIV/AIDS who also have a major mental illness, and significant unmet needs. ART has two components: home-based psychiatric assessment services provided by the Visiting Psychiatric Service of the OHMHS, and specialized case management services.

The HIV/AIDS Information Outreach Project

This site is a comprehensive resource database for HIV and AIDS-related services in New York City and neighboring areas.

The Momentum Project

In partnership with BOOM!Health, provides food, nutrition, supportive services and health services at eight locations in four boroughs of New York City.

Testing Sites

AIDS Service Center NYC

Offers free and confidential HIV counseling and testing, in English and Spanish, at their two Manhattan locations.

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center

Low-cost, confidential HIV testing and counseling is provided at Callen-Lorde, by appointment.

HIV Counseling & Testing Resource Directory

New York State's Department of Health has compiled a resource directory of HIV testing and counseling service providers, by county.

National HIV Testing Resources

A searchable database of testing facilities across the country, based on zip code.

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Provides free and confidential STD clinics to the public, all of which offer HIV testing and counseling. This page lists the clinics' locations and hours in every borough.
