Creativity Doesn't Age Speaker Series: Can Art Dismantle Ageism? (ET)

Webinar Hours: 10:30am - 12:30pm PT / 12:30pm - 2:30pm CT / 1:30pm - 3:30pm ET

This webinar explores the power of art and its ability to tackle and confront ageism. Artistic activism has had significant historical impact on social change, particularly with regard to many well-known movements, such as civil rights, women’s rights and workers’ rights. In this interactive session, Meg LaPorte and Jordan Evans will do the following:

  • Examine artistic activism and its application in fighting ageism and in changing society’s attitudes about older adults.
  • Explore how creative projects are bringing people together around common interests to eradicate prejudices around age.
  • Encourage interaction and feedback from the audience around ideas for artistic activism that confronts ageism.

ABOUT THIS SERIES

The world of work and meaningful connection for people over 50 is challenged by a number of factors at any time, but never as dramatically as during Covid-19. The Career Center's Creativity Doesn't Age Speaker Series invites guest speakers who have knowledge and commitment to addressing strategies for our community to connect and engage in creative ways during this time of physical distancing, and beyond. Of course, topics highlighted by our speakers are relevant to arts professionals at all ages and stages of their lives and careers.
