Self-Help Groups

Crystal Meth Anonymous

A 12-step program for those in recovery from addiction to crystal meth. Provides a national directory of meetings.

Marijuana Anonymous

Utilizes the 12 Steps of Recovery founded by Alcoholics Anonymous. Provides a meeting finder for most states.

Nar-Anon

A 12-step program designed to help relatives and friends of addicts recover from the effects of living with an addicted person. Provides information on finding local meetings.

Narcotics Anonymous World Services

Provides information about the organization, downloadable handbooks, a national events calendar and information on how to find local meetings.

National Association for Children of Alcoholics

Advocates for all children and families affected by alcoholism and other drug dependencies. This site has facts, advice and a list of resources for children.

SoberPlace

Provides Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and websites searchable by state, city and county.

Workers' Compensation

Provides information for employees, employers, insurers and medical providers about workmans' compensation benefits and work-related injuries and illnesses.

Government Benefits

Benefits CheckUp

Provides information about federal, state, local and private programs that help pay for prescription drugs, utility bills, meals, health, and a variety of other basic needs.

Govbenefits.gov

Provides information on public benefits by state. It is also has an online screening questionnaire that determines the benefits for which the user may be eligible.

Medicare

A federally funded program that provides medical and prescription coverage for seniors and the disabled.

Social Security Administration

A federal agency that administers benefits to retired and disabled individuals.

Rights and Advocacy

Medicare Rights Center

Assists people who are enrolled in or eligible for Medicare with Medicare rights issues, including accessing benefits on a limited income, benefits counseling, federal Medicare reform advocacy and more.

Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States

Serves as the national voice for sexuality education, sexual health and sexual rights. This site is a good source for facts and updates on HIV policies and state profiles on various HIV/AIDS topics.

Clinical Trials

AIDS Clinical Trials Group

The largest HIV clinical trials organization in the world. Has a database of contact information for all hospitals and medical centers in the U.S. conducting clinical research on HIV.

AIDSinfo: A Service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

This site allows users to search for current clinical trials studying HIV/AIDS by category, condition, demographics and location.
